Operator

Sorcade is operated by UAIRI.

  • Address: 169 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016, United States

What we list

  • Only game projects published on GitHub under one of these licenses: MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD-2-Clause, BSD-3-Clause, ISC, Zlib, Unlicense, 0BSD, BSL-1.0, MPL-2.0, LGPL-2.1, LGPL-3.0, EPL-2.0, GPL-2.0, GPL-3.0, AGPL-3.0, CC0-1.0. The license comes from the repository's own license file, which every game page links to.
  • We never list piracy indexes, projects that redistribute commercial game files, proxies or tools for bypassing restrictions, cheats, adult content, or gambling and crypto projects.
  • Fan games, remakes or clones that use third-party trademarks, characters or titles are hidden by default and published only after a person decides there is no obvious infringement risk.
  • Projects that require you to buy commercial game data to run are currently not shown.

We don't host game files

Sorcade does not store, mirror or redistribute any game's source code, executables or assets. "Play", "Download" and "Source code" buttons link straight to the developer's official pages.

Screenshots, videos and trademarks

  • Screenshots come from images the developers published in their repository README. They are hotlinked (not copied to our servers) and credited to the source repository; copyright stays with the authors. When there is no screenshot, we show the preview image GitHub generates for the repository.
  • Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed (youtube-nocookie.com) and only load after you click. Playback is subject to YouTube's terms.
  • Trademarks: game names and logos belong to their owners. We use them only to identify and comment on the games, which doesn't imply any partnership or endorsement.
  • Descriptions that haven't been rewritten by our editors are quoted from the developer's GitHub project description, and are labeled as such.

Data sources

Project data (name, description, license, stars, releases, update times) comes from the official GitHub REST API, used in line with GitHub's terms and rate limits. We store only public repository information and the owner's public username.

Scores

Sorcade Scores are the Sorcade team's subjective opinions about a specific version of a game. They are not a guarantee of quality or a statement of fact. We never accept payment for scores. Player reviews are posted by users and are their own opinions.

The Sorcade Scores, our original text and the site design are © UAIRI. Data in our open data feed may be reused freely with attribution ("Sorcade" and a link).

Developer replies

If you think a score or text contains a factual error, or you'd like to reply, email [contact@uairi.org](mailto:contact@uairi.org) with the page link, the issue, and your connection to the project (for example, your maintainer account). We correct factual errors and note the date; verified written replies can be shown next to the score.

Copyright and takedown notices

If you believe content on Sorcade — including user-uploaded images or reviews — infringes your copyright or other rights, or you own a project and don't want it listed, email [contact@uairi.org](mailto:contact@uairi.org) with:
  1. your name and contact details, and proof of authorization if you act for someone else;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work or right you claim;
  3. the URL of each item on Sorcade you want removed;
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

We review complete notices promptly, remove or disable access to infringing material, and notify the user who posted it. For repositories, we also add them to a permanent do-not-list list. Project owners who write from their GitHub-linked email or open an issue from their GitHub account can have their game removed without further proof.

Counter-notices. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice with your contact details, the removed content and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts for your address (or New York, if you are outside the US), and your signature. We may restore the content unless the complainant tells us they've filed a lawsuit.

Repeat infringers. We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.

Misuse. Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may make you liable for damages.

Child safety

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. We remove it immediately, preserve the relevant information and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other authorities as required by law.
